Marek Olejarz was born in Poland in 1976. His parents fled from Eastern Europe to the magnificent Andalusian region of Algeria. They came to Montreal a few years later after a short stay In Ottawa. Marek considers himself a Canadian of adoption while remaining proud of his European origins.
Being an imaginative and creative child, Marek won the first prize in a drawing competition organized by the City of Montreal, "The House of the Future". He was 10 years old. During the following years, drawing, mathematics, and reading will fuel his curiosity and his education. Solitary by nature and as much interested in modern writers as by classical artists, his evenings are spread between Mann, Waterhouse, Nabokov, Chekhov or Dumas.
After a professional debut in cartoons for television, Marek turned his attention to video games where he works as a Senior Art Director.
Beside his activities in his workplace, he has given interviews for various newspapers such as LaPresse, or Painter, and has been hosting artistic narration workshops at the University of Montreal.
